Pacific salmon may contain radiation

VANCOUVER – Canadian officials are testing salmon returning to B.C. waters for traces of radiation from Japan’s earthquake battered nuclear reactors.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency says it doesn’t expect to find any problems. But it says it’s prudent to make sure the fish are safe for consumption. The agency says the salmon fishery wasn’t active in March when nuclear reactors in Fukushima were damaged by the massive earthquake and tsunami.
