Smilin’ Jack is making his final journey to the place he always wanted to be – Parliament Hill.
With a family history steeped in the tradition of public service and his own dream of making change and of someday becoming prime minister many canadians, whether they agreed with his politics or not feel this is a fitting tribute for federal ndp leader Jack Layton.
His casket is part of a motorcade that left Toronto this morning around 4 enroute to the Capital.
it is travelling the 4-0-1, along the highway of heroes – and will come along the final stretch – of the 4-1-6 heading into the Capital.
Layton’s body will arrive at 10:30 this morning going past the tributes left on the Hill and will lie in state in the rotunda outside the House of Commons today and tomorrow.
