If your drive includes the 174, you know it is more like a boat ride than a car.
The road feels more like a mild roller coaster than a road according to Beacon Hill – Cyrville Councillor Tim Tierney.
A city staff report says the fix will be expensive and challenging.
The report says repairs have to be done, if left un-fixed, there will be safety issues.
In 1997, the province downloaded responsibility for upkeep of the 174 to the city.
The city approved a motion in 2004 to send responsibility back to the province, but nothing has changed.
Councillors say the regional road should not be Ottawa’s responsibility.
