Boating and booze don’t mix: OPP

A friendly reminder from the OPP if you plan to be on the water this Labour Day: leave the booze on shore.

The provincial force says nearly one third of all drownings are from falling overboard, and that alcohol was involved in 68 per cent of all drownings in Ontario.

Another fact: 96 per cent of drowning victims weren’t wearing life-jackets.
