Controversy swirls as People prepare to gather in New York City for 10th anniversary of 9/11

As people prepare to gather Sunday for the 10th anniversary of 9/11 controversy is swirling.

1310’s Carl Hantske is in New York and said resentment is beginning to grow around at ground zero among police, fire and other first responders who have been told they are not invited.

One New York police officer said “It’s a slap in the face, and these people are now sick, some of them are not even here 10 years later, it’s wrong.”

“They are as much a part of this than anybody,” said one New Yorker.

Another person said “I do feel like they deserve recognition.”

The families of the 366 firefighters and police officers who perished when the twin towers collapsed will be in attendance.  Most people Carl Hantske talked to agreed.

No religious leaders have been invited either.
