Tense moments on two planes during 9-11 anniversary

Reports of air passengers acting suspiciously on two flights prompted U.S. authorities to scramble fighter jets on the 10th anniversary of Sept. 11.

Bomb squads and FBI command centres were also on alert as two commercial airliners were escorted to airports in New York City and Detroit, Mich.

Both security scares involved passengers spending way too much time in the washroom.

One man who was on the American Airlines flight from Los Angeles, Calif, to New York said they weren’t allowed to get off the plane.

Three men were questioned after reports of them making repeated trips to the washroom, but no charges have been laid.

Then, on a Frontier Airlines flight from Denver, Co., authorities said the “suspicious behaviour” ended up being two people making out in the washroom.
