A suspicious envelope in an office at Kent and Slater prompted the evacuation of the 8th floor this morning.
Ottawa police and fire HAZMAT crews arrived at 344 Slater Street around 8:30, after the package was discovered, reportedly containing white powder and a note claiming that it was Anthrax.
Three employees who handled the envelope, along with the first two police officers on the scene were isolated and examined by paramedics.
No injuries have been reported.
The rest of the floor was evacuated as a safety precaution, but employees were allowed to return after a few hours.
The package has now been sent for analysis to Health Canada.
