Report says Energy Drinks should have special label on packaging

If you can guzzle down something that claims to “give you wings,” then maybe Health Canada should slap a special label on it.
An expert panel says energy drinks like Red Bull, Rock Star and Monster should be renamed “stimulant drug containing drinks” and sold under the supervision of a pharmacist, and not alongside sports drinks, juice and pop.
The report was done a year ago, and released by Postmedia who located it under the access to information act.
No surprise that there’s fierce opposition from the beverage industry, which says the energy drinks may have more caffeine than a can of coke, but also about the same as a cup of coffee.
