Expansion on the 417

OTTAWA – The Ontario Government is spending $86 million to expand Highway 417.        

The work will see the highway widened to 8 lanes between Eagleson Road and Palladium Drive while it will be expanded to 6 lanes between Palladium and Highway 7.  

An H.O.V lane will be part of the project which is expected to take more cars off the road as more people car pool to use the lane.        

Cavanagh Construction won the bid to do the work which will create 650 jobs over the next two years.     

The work should be complete in 2014.
