More public relations problems have surfaced for OC Transpo. Following the firing of the cursing driver and putting the brakes on singing driver, Yves Roy, the latest incident surfaced Tuesday when a driver abandoned his bus with passengers aboard on the Mackenzie King Bridge.
The driver refused to answer a question about why he was 40 minutes late. After Henry McCambridge asked the driver of the number 5 so late, he was told to get off. The driver then he walked off the bus himself, leaving it running and the passengers fuming. The incident is being investigated by management and the union.
However, Sean Mckenney Of The Ottawa And District Labour Council told 1310News most people can’t relate to the drivers. He said they are an easy target for riders and never have a moment when they are not being watched.
The A.T.U has filed an appeal to get the job back for the driver who was fired for swearing and threatening a passenger.
