The streets of the city were host to a police drama more suited to television than Sunday in Ottawa.
Police pursued a 23-year-old man through the city after a woman was allegedly abducted in Vanier.
The man was driving a stolen mini-van and led police in a dangerous pursuit through Vanier, the Byward Market, and Uppertown where police broke the chase off due to safety concerns.
The police were able to disable the suspect’s vehicle in a novel way; they threw a police bicycle under his tires.
The man finally fled on foot, but was tracked down by a canine officer who found him hiding under a porch near Gilmour and Kent.
The man is now in custody, the woman was released unharmed.
Witnesses are asked to contact the Ottawa Police Partner Assault Section or Crime Stoppers.
