Operation Red Nose has busy first night

If you’ve had too much to drink this holiday season, Operation Red Nose has landed in Ottawa and will make sure you and your car make it home safely.

According to Danielle Legault, Media Relations Officer for Operation Red Nose, 90 rides were provided in Gatineau and 22 in Ottawa on Friday night.

Coordinator David Van Vlaanderen tells 1310News this is the first weekend of the operation; “It entails volunteers coming together to be available to drive people home with their vehicles at no cost when they feel they’ve had too much to drink. It gives people a safe alternative to driving under the influence.”

If you need a volunteer to help get you and your vehicle home safely over the next few weekends, call 613-232-0925. To visit their website for more information, click here.

The service is free, however those who take advantage of the service are welcome to make a donation. All of the proceeds go to the Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa.
