No-show at the Congo Embassy

It was a quiet day at the Embassy of the Democratic Republic of Congo Wednesday – but police were prepared for that.
After a violent protest on Tuesday, many protesters vowed to return the Wednesday.
Spray paint, broken glass and garbage is all that remains after hundreds upset about the Congo election gathered Tuesday.
Mounties were called in to keep the protesters at bay and police said they “did the job they needed to do,” when the peaceful protest turned violent.
Three protesters were arrested, one officer suffered a knee injury, another had a cut.
50 people were treated for pepper spray, and one person was struck by a taser.
