About five-thousand customers woke up without the lights Friday morning.
The power went out for customers in the area of West Carleton surrounding Galetta after a vehicle slammed into a hydro pole.
Police say a vehicle hit the pole around 3:00 am, near the Highway 17 and Galetta Side Road intersection.
Two people were in the vehicle and both received minor injuries.
The 27-year-old male driver has been charged with careless driving and issued a 3-day licence suspension for operating a motor vehicle while consuming alchol.
Hydro lines were down over the highway resulting in the closure of the eastbound and westbound lanes.
