Speculation Rogers and Bell may buy controlling stake in MLSE

The Ontario Teachers Pension Plan is apparently about to sell controlling stake of Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment once again.

There has been speculation that the buyers are rival telecommunication giants Rogers and Bell.

According to QMI Agency, the deal is worth as much as $2-billion and the two media giants would split the shares.

Sources say an announcement of the deal could come as early as Friday.

Two weeks ago the teachers union announced they were taking the shares off the market after an eight month search did not produce the desired price.
