Parking lot nightmare

It was a nightmare in parking lots across the city on Saturday afternoon, as shoppers flocked to the malls to pick up last-minute gifts!

At St. Laurent shopping centre, some shoppers drove around for 20 minutes until they found a place to park.

People honked their horns, cut each other off and some drivers even swore as they competed for limited parking spots!

By the time they got out of the car many shoppers like Erin said they wanted to turn around and go home.

“There’s no parking anywhere,” said Erin. “It’s ridiculous out here!”

Other shoppers like Wendy were overwhelmed by the aggressive driving behaviour in the parking lot.

“I think my blood pressure just went up a couple notches,” she said with a chuckle.

“It was not very good,” said her husband David with a nod. “It’s hard to find a parking spot!”

Some shoppers like Jordan shared their tactics for success!

“You just kind of wait around and have a look for people walking from the store out,” said Jordan, who was shopping with his wife and two kids.

Some shoppers avoided the madness by parking down the block or taking transit.
