Christmas shopping on a budget

As the final days of Christmas shopping wrapped up, shoppers in Ottawa raced around town to buy the last of their Christmas gifts.

The majority of shoppers told 1310News they had planned their budgets ahead of time and have managed not to go overboard.  

Some said  they’ve spent less this year compared to past seasons due to financial difficulties, while others said they spent more because of higher prices.

Shoppers also told 1310News that they’ve saved quite a bit by resorting to making their own gifts, shopping online and agreeing with family members and loved ones to keep things simple.
