Guilty plea from man caught with bomb in car trunk

The man caught driving through the Glebe wth a bomb in his trunk has pleaded guilty.

Chad Baillargeon was arrested last January after Ottawa police discovered the explosive in a traffic stop.

He pled guilty to explosive charges in court today.

Crown prosecutor Robert Wadden told the court that investigators sent the bomb for chemical analysis and found that it was not actually capable of exploding.

The 36-year-old has a lengthy criminal record and in a jailhouse interview with the Sun last year, he denied links to the Hells Angels.

Baillairgeon said he plead guilty to minimize the hurt he inflicted on his ex-wife and their two children.
