More jobs coming in 2012

OTTAWA – The Conference Board is providing some hope for the jobs market over the next few months.
The think-tank’s metro help-wanted index, which tracks job growth in the economy, shows near-term prospects for jobs are up in 14 of 26 metropolitan areas.
There were six areas with negative readings.
Prospects for employment were strongest in western cities, where natural resource industries have been buoyed by continuing strong world commodity prices.
The survey also found employment prospects are positive in Atlantic Canada, but mixed in Ontario and Quebec.
Canada’s labour market has been generally weak since July, with employment declines registered in three of the four past months.
