Two people homeless in Centretown fire

OTTAWA – Ottawa Fire crews are on scene of a two-alarm blaze at 179 Waverly Street this afternoon.
The second and third floor caught fire causing thick black smoke.
No one was home at the time of the blaze.
Tony Gariano, the homeowner tells 1310News that he is coping well despite the fact that crews are ripping apart the home that he has been living at since 1999.
He says he is glad no one was hurt and that it looks like there is only structural damage. He adds they do have a place to stay and that they will be fine.
