Ottawa braces for cold snap

The mild temperatures of late have officially ended as residents of Ottawa woke up to temperatures hovering around -13 C.

Temperatures are expected to be in the negative double digits until Saturday, with the exception of Friday which has a high of -9 C.

With the windchill, it could feel closer to -20.

Flurries are expected throughout the day and into the evening Tuesday before the sun shines for the remainder of the week.

According to Environment Canada the average high for Dec. 30 is -5.4 C.
