Montreal mom testifies for third day in honour killing trial

KINGSTON, On – A mother accused of killing her three daughters and her husband’s first wife is on the stand for a third day of testimony in Kingston today.

Tooba Yahya is being cross-examined on the witness stand,  Yahya, her husband Mohammed Shafia and their son Hamed are each facing four counts of first degree murder.

Macleans reporter Micheal Frisconlanti tells 1310News so far, it’s been another emotional day of testimony.

“We’ve certainly seen tears, we’ve seen a lot of emotion.  She’s as fiesty as ever.  What we’re seeing is the crown trying to discredit every little piece, every little thing she has said,” he said

Friscolanti says the crown is focusing on the wiretaps of Shafia and Yahya in the days before their arrest, calling the three Shafia sisters “prostitutes and whores” for photos of them wearing short skirts, tight jeans or hugging a boyfriend.
