Liberal delegates vote to legalize marijuana

Delegates at the Liberal policy convention in Ottawa have passed some controversial resolutions.

More than three quarters of the members  voted in favour of legalizing, regulating and taxing marijuana.

Delegates also want to change the voting system in Canada to a preferential ballot…meaning you would rank the candidates when you vote.

A call to sever ties our country’s ties with the monarchy though was soundly rejected.

None of these resolutions are binding for MP’s in the House of Commons and the leader has the right to veto any he doesn’t like.
