Winter storm grips Ottawa

OTTAWA – It’s in like a lion for March. Two centimetres dusted Ottawa Wednesday evening and overnight as a winter storm hovered over the region. Another five centimetres are expected Thursday.

Strong gusty winds caused blowing snow Thursday morning, creating visibility issues for drivers that continued through the morning commute.  Another band of snow could create possible white out conditions in outlying areas through the day.

Buses were cancelled Thursday for the Upper Canada District School Board and the Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario and corresponding french language boards.  Buses ran for Ottawa and Renfrew.

The weather did cause problems at the Ottawa International Airport.  Click here for flight cancellations and delays.
