Ottawa breaks high temperature record set in 1966

OTTAWA – On the final day of March Break Ottawa has unofficially set a new record high. According to Environment Canada, the temperature reached 25.1 degrees Celsius on Sunday.  The old record was 16.1 degrees Celsius set in 1966. 

With more warm weather in the forecast, we can expect to break more records throughout the week.

The forecast for Monday is calling for a mix of sun and cloud with a 30 per cent chance of showers in the afternoon and a risk of thunderstorms. The high is forecast at 21 and the record for Monday is 16.0 set in 2010

On Tuesday, the first day of spring we can expect a mix of sun and cloud and a summer-like high of 24. The record for tuesday is 14.6 from 1995. On Wednesday there will be cloudy skies with a chance of afternoon showers and 24 degrees. The record for Wednesday is 17.8 set back in 1946.
