What is the world’s most valuable company actually worth? $600-billion (U.S.)
That’s the price tag attached to electronics powerhouse Apple, whose stock is up 59 per cent since the beginning of 2012 and hit $644 in morning trading, Tuesday.
Only one other company in history has been worth as much. Microsoft reached the same platform for 13 trading days in late 1999, but now it’s only worth $260-billion.
