OTTAWA – Rockcliffe Park Public School is asking the school board for financial help, as a local nursery gives the school’s council an extension on an overdue bill.
The Betty Hyde Nursery School, owed $35, 000 of $70, 000 missing from the school’s student council treasury fund, has agreed to wait for its payment until April 27th.
Now the school’s council has asked the Ottawa Carleton District School Board to assume the $70, 000 debt.
The school council’s website said it may not be allowed to borrow money to cover the shortfall and it is likely not going to use the money from its book sale.
A board meeting on Tues, April 24, will deal with the request to cover the debt.
