Do or done for the 67’s in game 5

The battle in the East is on in Niagara Friday night as the Ottawa 67’s take on the Ice Dogs.  The Dogs lead the Eastern Conference final series 3-1 which makes game 5 a do or done for the 67’s.  Puck drop is at 7 p.m. and will be broadcast on Rogers Cable channel 22.

It’s not the first time in the playoffs the 67’s have been in this position.  In round two they were down three games to one against the Barrie Colts.  Which means, not all hope is lost.  It may in fact come down to the battle of the goalies, with two World Juniors between the pipes; Ottawa’s Petr Mrazek who played for the Czech Republic and was named goalie of the IIHF tournament and Mark Visentin, Canada’s starter for the last two years.  To learn more about the rest of the team check out the 67 with a 67 on our website.

Over the regular season Niagara was the winner of three of four match ups with the 67’s, nipping them by nine points to finish first in the Eastern Conference.  The 67’s finished second.  Both teams clinched their division titles and began their run for the J. Ross Robertson Cup.

Regardless of who wins this series, it is possible that the 67’s have played their last game at Landsdowne Park for at least two years.  After 45 years on Bank Street the team will temporarily relocate to Scotiabank place while the Civic Centre is rehabbed.
