Duty free limits to increase Friday

OTTAWA, On. — Starting tomorrow, Canadian travellers out of the country at least 48 hours will be able to bring back $800 worth of goods.

The hike in the duty free limit is worrying some businesses on this side of the border, who fear Canadians will plan extended cross-border shopping sprees.

But one B-C duty free shop owner predicts upping the limits to match U-S regulations will actually increase business and get traffic flowing both ways across the border.
