CHEO BBQ this Saturday

The CHEO BBQ celebrates the big 2-0 Saturday.

What started as a fishbowl being passed around at a backyard birthday party has grown to include more than a 1000 people, and has raised more than $365,000 for the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario.

Co-founder Mike Machargo says the fun gets started in Shefford Park at 8:30 a.m.

“As always, we have our volleyball tournament and our ultimate tournament,” Machargo tells 1310News. “But we’re adding something fun this year. A 5k Family Walk to help us include more people, and raise more money for CHEO.”

The goal for this year is $60,000. The full schedule of events and details on how to donate can be found online.
