OTTAWA – A taser was used by Ottawa Police to put an end to a six hour stand off with an armed man on Sunday morning.
According to the Ottawa Sun, Ottawa Police Tactical Officers were called to a south-end home Saturday night around 9 p.m.
The suspect was holed up inside his ex-girlfriend’s house at 2460 Falcon Avenue, near Heron and Brookfield Roads, while she and a friend were home.
The two women were unharmed and released once the standoff began.
Paramedics and OC Transpo were called in to help, while officers communicated with the armed suspect.
Officers forced their way inside the house around 3 a.m. when it appeared the man would harm himself.
He was then tasered and taken to hospital, and remains in police custody.
