Making Ottawa more “liveable”

The City of Ottawa is looking to residents for guidance and suggestions when it comes to the review of the city’s master plans.

Every five years, municipalities need to review and update their Official Plan. This time around, Ottawa will be looking at its Official Plan, Transportation Master plan, Infrastructure Master plan, Cycling plan and Pedestrian plan.

By going over the current plans and regulations, it’s hoped the city will be able to create policy to create a vibrant, and affordable city.

Councillor Peter Hume tells 1310News, it should bring clarity to neighbourhoods and those who build them.

“The community and the development industry know what’s happening so there’s not this constant battle at planning committee on interpreting our official plans”.
