Intersection reopens after warehouse fire on Sheffield

OTTAWA, Ont. – Ottawa fire crews responded to a fire on Cascades Recovery Inc. on Sheffield Avenue in Ottawa’s east end Thursday morning just after 6 a.m. The facility recovers paper for recycling.

There were approximately 15 employees in the warehouse at the time. Three people were treated for smoke inhalation.
No word on a cause or a damage total.
Sheffield Avenue was closed at Walkley Avenue in all directions, but has since reopened.
