VIA service resumes between Ottawa and Toronto

OTTAWA, Ont. – VIA Rail service has resumed between Ottawa and Toronto. Services was halted earlier in the day because of a fatality on the tracks near Fallowfield station in Barrhaven.

Police were called to the tracks Wednesday afternoon after a person was hit by a train. Ottawa Police told 1310News, foul play is not suspected in the fatality.

Some train passengers were taken to their destinations by bus, while other trains were delayed.
