Kanata OPP officer charged with child luring

OTTAWA – Ontario Provincial Police have arrested a Kanata OPP officer in connection with an incident of child luring between September 22 and December 3, 2012.

Officers launched an investigation in December after receiving a complaint from relatives of the victim.

Constable Michael Janho, 31, who was off-duty at the time of the offence, faces child luring charges. He has been suspended with pay.

OPP will not release any details of the victim, other than she is a girl.

Janho has been a member of the OPP Ottawa detachment for five years. He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Ottawa on July 9.
