Residents in High River growing frustrated

HIGH RIVER, Alta. – Officials in High River, Alberta, are facing the wrath of angry evacuees who want to be let back into their homes.
Mayor Emile Blokland says a timeline for re-entry will be announced in the coming days.
But in the meantime, he and others are pleading for patience, saying it simply isn’t safe to return.
Some residents say the longer they are out, the worse the mould and damage will become.
Cam Crawford, president of the High River Residents Association, says a staged re-entry could have already started.
He says they’re not asking to sleep in their beds, they just want to get in and start dealing with the damage.
Junior federal finance minister Ted Menzies, who represents High River in Parliament, says he understands that, but says one family that went back turned on their power and burned their house down.
And Premier Alison Redford told the story of how a Winnipeg soldier lost his arm after the Red River floods when he got a shock after touching the water.
