NCC discusses revised western LRT

OTTAWA – The NCC board of directors vopted unanimously, Friday, to ask the City of Ottawa to put its entire 1.2-kilometre western LRT, underground.

The NCC also wants the City to present it with a detailed study of how they will put it underground. The board doesn’t want any part of the train to touch NCC property.

A revision presented yesterday was not accepted, that includes putting a 700-metre section underground, at an additional cost of $80 million.

Westboro residents are worried they might lose access to the Ottawa River, if the line remains above ground.
