OPP gear up for Canada Day

Ontario Provincial Police are gearing up for the busiest long weekend of the year on roads, trails and waterways.

The OPP will be keeping a close eye out for aggressive driving in motor vehicles, boats or all-terrain vehicles.

They’re also reaching out to other motorists, boaters and trail users to report unsafe behaviour such as speeding, tailgating, improper lane changes, or any other general disregard for traffic laws.

Police said help from communities could be partly responsible for the drop in the number of deaths on roads, waterways and trails from 173 at this time in 2012 to 110 this year.
