Naming LRT station on Tremblay presents problems

OTTAWA – There will be 18 Light Rail Transit stops once the system is up and running in the capital.

Naming the stops will be easy for the most part, however, the stop at the VIA Rail main station on Tremblay Road is presenting a problem.

Some feel naming the stop after Tremblay Road wouldn’t be recognizable to most people.

However, others feel calling it the ‘VIA Station’ could also be confusing since there are two VIA Rail stations in Ottawa — one of Tremblay Road and the other on Fallowfield Road in Barrhaven.
