What’s open and closed in Ottawa this long weekend?

OTTAWA – The Civic long weekend is upon us!
The holiday comes with a number of closures around the city, however, because the Civic Monday is not a statutory holiday, many retail stores will be open.
Here’s the rundown:
Shopping and attractions:
Most stores, malls and grocery stores are open Monday with reduced hours. Stores in the Byward Market are open, including the Rideau Centre, from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Most LCBO stores are open on Monday. The Beer Store locations are open regular hours on Sunday, with only select stores open Monday from 11a.m. – 6 p.m.
Banks are closed on Monday.
Quebec doesn’t have a Civic Holiday on August 5, so it’s business as usual.
Client services:
Ottawa City Hall and all seven Client Service Centres, including the Government Service Centre located at 110 Laurier Avenue West, are closed Monday for Colonel By Day. Business will resume as usual on Tuesday.
The City’s Provincial Offences Court at 100 Constellation Crescent is closed on Monday. Business will resume as usual on Tuesday.
The City’s 311 Contact Centre is open for urgent matters requiring immediate attention. Call 311 or 613-580-2400 to speak to a customer service representative.
Garbage, green bin and recycling:
There will be no curbside green bin, recycling, or garbage collection on Monday; collection is delayed by one day for the week.
There will be no multi-residential bulky items, green bin and recycling container collection Monday; collection is delayed by one day for the remainder of the week. However, multi-residential garbage container collection is not delayed and takes place on its regularly scheduled day.
The Trail Waste Facility will be closed on Monday.
Parking:
All City of Ottawa parking regulations and restrictions will apply on Monday.
Transit service:
OC Transpo will operate a Sunday schedule on Monday, with extra service added to routes 8, 94, 95 and 105. .
OC Transpo Sales and Information Centres will be closed, with the exception of the Rideau Centre office, which will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The OC Transpo Information Centre (613-741-4390) will be open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
The OC Transpo Customer Relations Department (613-842-3600) will be closed.
Recreation services:
Some outdoor pools, indoor pools and fitness centres will be open for public swimming, and fitness classes with modified schedules. Please check with ottawa.ca or the facility of your choice for details.
All beaches, splash pads and some wading pools will be open, weather permitting.
Most registered programs at swimming pools, community centres and arenas are cancelled, however, clients should check with their facility to confirm, as some exceptions will apply.
Ottawa Public Health:
The Ottawa Public Health Information Line and AIDS-Sexual Health Info Line are closed Monday.
The City’s Sexual Health Centre and Satellite Clinics are closed Monday.
The SITE program office at 179 Clarence Street will be closed, however, the mobile van will be operating on a regular schedule from 5 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
Dental clinics are closed Monday.
Well Baby Drop-in is closed Monday.
Cultural Services:
Most programming at arts centres, archives, galleries, theatres and museums will not be offered. Check ottawa.ca or their facility to confirm.
Municipal child care services:
City-operated child care centres will be closed.
Ottawa Public Library:
All branches of the Ottawa Public Library will be closed on Monday.
