Woman rescued from water at Hog’s Back

OTTAWA – A woman was pulled from the water in a dramatic rescue at Hog’s Back Park falls late Thursday afternoon.

Two teens were returning from a soccer match when they saw the woman in the water; she was screaming for help. The teens called 911 and several other people came to help as well.

One person offered a camera bag as a make-shift rope for the distressed woman to hold onto, while another person grabbed their ankles, forming a human chain.

A veteran of the military, Pascal Landry, arrived at the scene and saw the human chain holding the woman in place. He went into the water and pulled the 27-year-old to safety.
