Man taken to hospital after crashing boat on Ottawa River

OTTAWA – A 26-year-old man is in serious but stable condition in hospital after man crashed his watercraft in to an anchored boat Saturday night on the Ottawa River.

Paramedics responded to a call for a watercraft collision around 11:45 p.m. Saturday near Lane Street and

Bayview Drive in Constance Bay.

The quick actions from his friends likely saved the man’s life as they swam out to rescue him from under the water.

The man was treated for a concussion and remains in hospital.
