Two arrested after man thrown into river during mugging

GATINEAU — Two suspects were arrested today after two men were attacked and one was thrown into the Ottawa River during a mugging along a bicycle trail behind the Université du Quebec en Outaouais.
Gatineau police were called to the scene around 12:30 p.m. and found two men in their 40s who were attacked in a wooded area off the trail.
One was thrown into the Ottawa River during the attack, while the other man was able to flee.
Suspects stole the men’s bikes, a smartphone, some cash and other personal items.
The men were shaken but not injured.
the two suspects, both 21 years of age, were arrested not long after after a short chase on foot.
