OTTAWA — The city of Ottawa has now opened its first Collision Reporting Centre.
If you do get into a fender-bender, you may call police and be referred to the new centre, located at 211 Huntmar Drive in Kanata.
While there, you simply fill out a form, speak with an officer, and get pictures of the damage taken to make your insurance claim.
Police anticipate the collision centre will make the process quicker, and save time and money.
Those who are referred to a Collision Reporting Centre need to go there within 24 hours, or police will file a fail to report investigation.
Police are expected to open up two more collision centres by the end of the year.
One will be at their Elgin Street headquarters and another will be located in Orleans.
