Gatineau Police are searching for three men after a highway barrier worker was assaulted at random by two of them with baseball bats.
Police told 1310News that three men, believed to be in their early 20s, pulled up in an Orange Pontiac Wave on the corner of St. Louis Blvd. and Highway 50 just after 10 p.m. last night.
Two men then stepped out of the car and began striking the victim in the head and arms with baseball bats.
The attack lasted about a minute and the victim, a 24 year old man who works for the signalling company MTS, was fortunately wearing a construction helmet at the time and was eventually able to run away from his attackers.
Police added that he didn’t know the men, who quickly fled in their vehicle down St. Louis Blvd.
Two suspects are described as between 5’9 and 5’11, between 160 and 170 pounds.
The driver, who stayed in the vehicle, is described as a large man.
