Ottawa-bound Via Train strikes, kills pedestrian

MONTREAL — A pedestrian was struck and killed Thursday morning by an Ottawa-bound Via train in the West-Island of Montreal.
Train #33 struck a pedestrian who was trespassing along the tracks in Beaconsfield just before 9:30 a.m.
There were no reports of injuries on board the train.
The Ottawa-Montreal-Toronto corridor was shut down for approximately 90 minutes due to the incident, and service resumed at 11:15 a.m.
The Transportation Safety Board is investigating the incident.
