Ottawa man facing robbery charges

OTTAWA – An Ottawa man is facing charges in connection to a bank robbery earlier this month.

Around 5 p.m. on Wednesday August 6, a man entered a bank in the Elmvale Shopping Centre and produced a note demanding money. There were no injuries, and while the man claimed to be armed, no weapon was seen.

Ahmed Hifato, 25, faces charges of robbery, uttering threats, and breach of probation.

He is in court Friday.
