Missing Toronto woman may be headed to Ottawa

OTTAWA — A woman who disappeared from Toronto nearly two weeks ago may be trying to get to her family in Ottawa.
Kit Currie was last seen on her bike, August 14, in Toronto. Her family is worried, saying it’s out of character for her to suddenly disappear.
“This is…very unusual for her to disappear, not feed her cat, not be in contact with her family,” said Jennifer Currie-Roy, Kit’s sister. “We’re all very close; she has a son in Toronto that she loves very much.”
Currie-Roy says she and her family members are worried for Kit’s mental health, and that she may be having an episode of paranoia.
“She’s only had one in her lifetime, and she’s been a stable adult all of her life,” Currie-Roy explained.
There was a very credible sighting of Kit in Toronto this past weekend, where a woman asked a man for money so that she could get to her family in Ottawa.
Kit also owns a piece of land in Lanark County, her sister says, and may also be trying to get there.
Currie-Roy says her sister loves nature and the outdoors, and is likely hiding in a wooded park in Toronto’s Don Valley. Currie-Roy plans to fly to Toronto, Thursday, to join the search for her sister.
Kit Currie’s friends and family have set up a website dedicated to the search for her.
