Calypso Water Park trial begins Wednesday

OTTAWA – The owners of Calypso Water Park go on trial Wednesday after lawyers delayed the case earlier this week.

The park is accused of several safety violations in connection to two of the parks water slides.

The park is facing 20 regulatory charges under the Technical Standards and Safety Act in relation to patrons who were injured on the Bobsleigh and Steamer water slides in 2011 and 2012.

If convicted, the park could fines in the range of $20 million. The trial is expected to last three weeks.
