Uber eyes Ottawa market

OTTAWA – An alternative to the classic taxi cab could be coming to Ottawa.

Uber operates in 205 cities around the world, and Ottawa is apparently an appealing market.

The company uses an App instead of dispatchers; people register to share their car and offer rides to people with credit card the only payment option. The fare is based on time and distance.

Ottawa’s largest taxi cab operator has concerns about safety.
